New York Press vol. 13, number 39 - 9/27 ~ 10/3/2000

Well, this is my first official illustration gig. I have to be honest and say I am not a regular reader of NY Press. I used to check it out more often, but ever since they lost the feature "Female Trouble" illustrated by my e-bud Sara Schwartz, I felt like I didn't have anything to read in there. But, I think it's great that they seem to have a commitment to using illustration of all kinds. So, it's a good place to start for all the young illustrators out there. I didn't really look or ask for it, but now that I've done this one, I think I might wanna do some more. It's a different kind of thing making still images although I still use Flash. Although it may not look like it, this piece is comprised of about 20 layers of stuff. It's also funny that they picked me for this section. I'd been asked before if I consciously use the theme of eating as I guess it seems my characters are always eating or being eaten by each other. I didn't think of it that way, but maybe I am unconsciouly very hungry. whatever. If y'all have some illo gigs for me, lemme know.
