Super - Rendevous with Super

Super - Tips

This was another band that i first found from a Bungalow compilation (Atomium 3003). I really liked the song, so I wanted to hear more of their stuff. Luckily I found these albums in Tokyo. "Rendevous with Super" is their first album (I think) and I think is the better of the two, but "Tipsy" has a nice cover. I don't really know how I would describe their music except that it's very whimsical pop music with great vocals and fairly traditional instrumentation. Not too much electronics going on here, but as with a lot of Scandinavian pop (I think they are from Norway, not Sweden), it's superbly recorded. It's as if 60's pop music has just progressed there without ever any influence from hard rock, disco, punk and all that stuff. I think they may have heard some Sergio Mendes though. I can see why Ladybug Transistor toured there. I especially like the swirly keyboard sound and the crisp cymbals. I couldn't find too much further information on them, so I don't even know if they are still together. It seems they used to have a website, but the link's long been dead. Anyway, I'd love to find out more about them if anybody knows anything about them.
