The Sensualists

This is the Sensualists' debut album from E*Rock's
Audio Dregs Records.
I've heard a few of their songs before on tapes he made me, but to hear the
whole album really is a different experience altogether. They really have
a wide variety in their sounds. The only sort of description that comes to
me now is "Godzuki meets Beastie Boys", but I don't think that is
quite right either. I think they use many keyboards which aren't synthesizers,
but are are more simpler instruments like electric organs. It reminds me when
I used to go and play a Wurlitzer organ at a friend's house. I didn't really
know how to play, but I had fun just the same. I think if I ever decided to
go into music, I could really see myself in a band like the Sensualists. This
may not be available just yet at record stores depending on when you read
this, but it's available at Darla
Records' site. Their despription of the Sensualists is much better than
mine, but I'm not sure I would call it dance music. There are songs which
you could dance to, but I think the overall tone is more of a soothing one.
Anyway if you are a fan of good music, this album would difinitely be a great
addition to your collection.
