LADYBUG TRANSISTOR - The Albemarle Sound

I've heard of them as a very good live band for a longtime, but never actually heard their music. I pictured from their name a kind of heavy psychedlic band with big long haired guys. Well, I couldn't have been more wrong. They do have an apparent sixties influence and while that could easily be cliche and uninteresting, they definitely make it sound as though we've never left that era. But I think the sixities thing is just a byproduct of making melodic music with more classic instruments. Their songs are very beautiful pop songs perfectly played with variety of different instruments besides the usual guitar, bass and drums such as flute, organ, glockenspiel(I think?), and other wind and string instruments. Check out their website and also Essex Green who shares members with Ladybug. I highly recommend these guys to anyone who isn't turned off by beautiful melodic pop music.
