Joan of Arc - a portable model of

This is a band I probably would've never found out about if people at u.s.indie didn't rave about it so much. I think it sounds like a cross between Pavement & Gaster del sol with really spare synthesizer here and there. This really spare use of synthesizer is good because without it sounds like so many other bands, but then the synthesizer comes in and catches you off guard. I think this kind of sound could really be explored further.
